Margaret Meyer

The very talented Margaret Meyer contacted me last week to introduce herself and show me her fabulous paintings and prints. I was hooked when I spied the bunny rockin’ the eye patch. Margaret’s talents just don’t stop with this, she is a painter and sculptor who moonlights in the stop-motion animation business (Coraline, “Robot Chicken”, “Flapjack”) How fabulous is that? I’m sure there will be more great things to come from this talented artist. Be sure to also stop by her blog to see a bit about her creative process.

TQB Designs

I’ve admired this shop for quite a while. I look at her jewelry and you can just see the amount of work that goes into each one that she creates. She is self-taught in the art of bead weaving and developed a system to create textural rounds, ovals, squares, cylinders, and barrel shaped beads. Lisa meticulously weaves each bead in the traditional gourd stitch and each woven sphere contains anywhere from 50 – 700 individual seed beads.

All I can say is Wow.

Les Voyageurs

The illustrations from artist Maia Chavez Larkin is beyond wonderful.  They’re colorful and magical and you feel as if you’re being transported into another world. Her blog also shows a lot of her work that’s not available in her shop. She even has her adorable paper dolls that are available for purchase only at Loup Charmant.

Diffraction Fiber

I was contacted by Beth of Diffraction Fiber to show me her latest and greatest additions to her Etsy shop. Her latest venture is her new series called “Out of Place” which features the combination of original photography and hand embroidery to create one of a kind pieces. This is the first time I’ve come across work like this and I really like the melding of two types of artistic expressions.

Fabulous.

Favorite Shop Snapshot = lilacmoon studio

Lilacmoon has amazing prints in her Etsy shop, and I adore her Poladoodle shots. She has a way of giving her work a light and whimsical feel with the images that she captures and the way that she combines her art on the prints.

So fab.

I love Vintage…

vintage gilt-trimmed COCO settee

My home is a mix of vintage and contemporary pieces because I love the combination of old and new. Brought to you by Bohemiennes, this COCO settee would be a wonderful addition to any nest.
