Imogene Coming Home fine art print 5 x 7

I received an email from Megan of Studio MME to have a look around her Etsy shop. I was happy that I did because she’s a very talented artist. This is a pen and ink illustration that’s printed on 5″x 7″ (12.5cm x 17.5cm) archival-safe, acid-free cotton rag paper.

Designer Cards, blogger cards and so much more… From marketing materials to personal cards, business cards have developed from the plain boring to a more modern and rounded corners, square cards and slim cards. Give your readers the chance to win die cut business cards prints!

I actually use Uprinting for my business card and box insert needs. The one business card that I’ve been getting tons of compliments on is the “Rounded One Corner”. I have the top right corner rounded and and the other 3 sides square and I always get a comment of “great business card”, even from my customers. The other size that I use is the 2×2 size for my box inserts. I put my logo and my web address as well as my tag line on one side and on the back I put a photograph of one of my rings on the reverse. I punch small holes for holding earrings or I cut two slits to hang chain from. I’ve always done this to prevent tangles of my chain during shipping but the 2×2 size is by far my fave. So I’m in love with Moissanites. They’re a perfect alternative to Diamonds and have immense fire and flash that can be seen from a distance.

Moissanite is harder than Sapphires, Rubies and other gemstones and only second in hardness to Diamonds. Believed to have been carried by a meteorite 50,000 years ago in trace amounts, silicon carbide in a labor intensive process has been hand faceted by master gem cutters to bring out the stone’s natural brilliance.  The fire that this gem produces is phenomenal.

So when I’m in a time crunch, I’ll resort to making pasta. It’s fast to make and everyone is always happy with the finished result.

My new love is slices of fresh Parmesan cheese that I now use instead of the grated container variety.  My kids even prefer it as well. At first they made faces and didn’t want to try it but they soon caught on and this is the first thing they grab out of the fridge when I yell, “Pasta’s Done!”

So I have a large collection of gorgeous Hydrangeas that I planted in my garden last year. Some are growing wildly while some are taking their sweet time. Before the season ends I like to go into my garden and get the prettiest pom poms that I can find to bring them in the house to dry. This way I can enjoy them during the winter months when my garden goes bare.

I was taking product photos today and decided to see how one of my dried multi colored Hydrangeas would look in my light studio. After playing around, I like the final results.

This is the normal shade of this particular Hydrangea that I dried.

This is with a color wash..

A black and white vintage version..

See what procrastination can do to a person? Ok, I need to get back to work. :P

I have a thing for great photography. It has to do with having just the right subject, lighting, ambiance, and skill. Not everyone can just pick up a camera take a couple photos and successfully market them..you need the “eye”. I do not have this gift so I happily admire the works of people that do. Lucy Snowe obviously has the eye and you can see it through her beautiful photography. I remember the first time I saw her work, it was this photograph that grabbed me.

Some artists are so talented you wonder if they really know how talented they are. I’ve admired the work from Melissa of This Year’s Girl for some time. Her artwork is amazing as you can see from the ones that I chose for this feature. Dreamlike and ethereal her work takes you on a journey between sleep and wake. This is an artist to admire.
